The 9th edition of the Francophonie Games kicked off in the afternoon on Friday, 21st July at Lescale Resort, Roche Caiman with an exciting opening ceremony. Team Seychelles will be competing in three sports: athletics, judo, and cycling. The delegation also includes participants for the cultural section of the Games, including three dancers and the painter Ryan Chetty, as well as media personnel and representatives from sports, youth, and culture.

During the ceremony, Minister Marie-Céline Zialor had the honor of officially handing over the Seychelles flag to the flag-bearer, athlete Dylan Sicobo.

The games will be held in Kinshasa, DR Congo from July 28th to August 6th.

A delegation from Seychelles is heading to Trinidad and Tobago for the Youth Commonwealth Games. On Friday, July 21st, they attended a small ceremony at the Olympic House. The President of SOCGA, Mr. Antonio Gopal, and the Principal Secretary for Sport, Mr. Ralph Jean Louis, addressed the delegation. Other attendees included Mr. Alain Alcindor, Secretary General of SOCGA, Mr. Ruudy Joseph NSC representative, the Chef De Mission Ms. Elsia Vidot, the coaches, and parents.

During the ceremony, Shane Fred and Abigail Labuschagne paraded in the officials' uniform, and Liam Barbe presented the vote of thanks. Amos Ferley and Immanuella Larue were chosen as the flag bearers for Team Seychelles. The group is scheduled to depart Seychelles for the Games on Saturday, July 29th.
