In anticipation of the opening of the SPS Amitie Youth Offender Facility, the Seychelles Prison Service proudly announces the appointment of key leadership roles. Inspector Stephanie Lewis has been designated as the facility's first officer in charge, and she will be supported by Sergeant Vicky Rose.
This significant decision follows a thorough selection process, including interviews with candidates from diverse backgrounds, including staff from the prison service.
Raymond St Ange, Commissioner of Prison, expressed satisfaction with the response, stating, "They were all excellent candidates, but only one could be selected after shortlisting."
Inspector Lewis, with over 12 years of commendable service in the Seychelles Police Force, previously held senior responsibilities as an inspector. A proud mother of two, she hails from Praslin. In her comments on the new role, she stated, "I am excited about the change of career and am thankful for the experiences gained from the police."
Sergeant Vicky Rose, a dedicated professional with ten years of service at SPS Montagne Posée, expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in her. As a mother of one, she looks forward to being part of the management for this crucial facility, emphasizing its importance in managing juveniles convicted by court.
The Psychosocial Unit of the prison service, led by Elsa Nourrice, will oversee the responsibility of SPS Amitie.
The commissioning of the youth offender facility is scheduled to take place in due course.
